足球副班长指什么？
“英超副班长”和“西甲副班长”是对于本赛季排名倒数第一的球队的戏称，一般指该队成绩差劲，联赛排名垫底的意思。 英文中并没有这种表达，不过可以用其他单词表示“倒数第一、最差的、垫底的”，比如“worst/loser/rock bottom team/bottom feeder（底层食物供应者）".
1)Worst team： 这个词比较正式而且能表达出对球队的不屑一顾，所以用来形容垫底球队再合适不过了！这个用法非常形象地描述了那些垫底的队伍就像是一个失败的人，他们永远都排在最后面，总是得不到他人的认可。举个例子： The Liverpool player is now a bad loser and has been labelled the worst team in England by his manager after he stormed off during the post match interview. (利物浦球员现在已经很没有风度了，在他冲出去采访的路上他被称为英格兰最差的一支球队。）
2)Losing streak / losing run： 当一支球队连续输球的时候就可以说它处于连败状态， 这里需要注意的是lose除了有“失去“还有“失败“(to fail to win something or achieve what you want)，而strike可以作名词和动词，在这里指的是“连胜(a series of wins)"或“打破连续输球的记录(to end an unsuccessful sequence)”。举个例子： Arsenal's losing streak hit nine matches yesterday when they were beaten at home against Aston Villa， who are currently sitting second from last on the Premiership table. (阿森纳昨天在主场与第二十九名的阿斯顿维拉对决时输掉了九场比赛从而打破了他们的连败纪录。)
3)Rock Bottom Team ： rock bottom的意思是“底部的，最糟糕的"，这个词组用来形容垫底球队再贴切不过了！举例说一下： He was down to his last dollar， but it felt like absolute rock-bottom. 他只剩下最后一块美元了，但那感觉就像是到了生活的最低谷。 This week saw Chelsea go Rock Bottom as their defeat against Southampton left them without a single point in the league， only bettering Fulham’s total of six points. (本周切尔西彻底跌入了谷底，他们在面对南安普敦时候失利使得他们在联盟积分榜上的分数为零，仅仅比富勒姆多6分而已。)
4)Bottom Feeders ： bottom feeder是指靠吃底部的食物为生的一种鱼类，引申为“底层人物；末流货色; 社会渣滓”。如果一支球队在联赛垫底的话我们就可以说他是一支bottom feeder啦！举例一下： After failing to score for four games under new coach Jose Mourinho， this loss could see Manchester United slip into the relegation zone next Sunday if results go against them. If that happens then they would join Sunderland ， West Bromwich Albion and Wolves as the three Premier League clubs with no goals so far this season. And those teams are all known as bottom feeders！ (在新的主教练穆里尼奥的帮助下曼联队已经连续四场未进一球，这场比赛失利很可能会在下周日让曼联滑落至降级区，但如果结果不利，那么他们将加入萨顿，威尔士阿尔比恩俱乐部以及狼队成为三支至今为止没有进球的队伍，而这些球队都是所谓的末流货色哦～) 最后提醒一句，当两支球队实力相差悬殊的时候也可以称之为two sides who finished rock bottom， bottom feeders ， losers etc…
