有，但很遗憾目前只有FIFA认证了男足世界杯，还没有举办女足世界杯。 女足比赛也是分组单循环，最后根据成绩划出等级。 曾经有过一次女足世界杯，1991年，中国赢得了这次冠军，也是中国、韩国和美国以外，第三个赢得过世界冠军称号的世界杯冠军球队。 但之后国际足联就取消了女子世界杯的赛事，原因嘛……
1998年的巴黎世妇会期间，国际足协在亚洲、欧洲和中美洲进行了大量考察后得出结论——女性的身体素质不如男性，因此不能以单场比赛定胜负来决定冠军归属，而应进行连续的比赛来产生胜利者。 于是国际足联宣布，从2003年起举办女足世界杯，参赛队伍由之前的每届16队增加至24队，比赛时间由原来的单场决胜负改为两回合制。 当然这些规定都是在男足赛事的基础上制定的，只是有了女足赛事而已。
